MTB Clinics

An integral aspect of Golden MTB Development will be to host a variety of clinics intended to introduce beginner/intermediate mountain bikers to the basic on-trail skillsets needed to be both comfortable and confident on the bike in a variety of terrain and conditions. These clinics will range from a weekly Mini-Clinic Series conducted for the Golden H.S. MTB Team to basic MTB Skills Clinics for both BMS and GHS parents. Our first official endeavor for 2018 was to host a Free 1-Day Girls MTB Skills Clinic in Golden! We had great community participation with 26 girls attending, as well as 12 passionate and experienced Coaches from IMBA, NICA, USAC and the Golden High School MTB Team!

NEXT: Parent MTB Skills Clinic for Bell MS, 9/26/18

The next clinic on our schedule is primarily for parents of Bell Middle School MTB Club riders, and will be held from 5:15-7:00PM at Golden High School on Wednesday 9/26/18. This clinic is intended to provide parents a framework of understanding the mechanics of mountain biking so that they can help their sons/daughters become confident riders on-trail (mainly via development of proper riding position, the core around which all subsequent MTB skills are founded). The Clinic will also address group ride ‘best practices’ in order to ensure the safety of all those participating in Bell MS rides (Safety is #1, Fun is #2; Lead/Sweep procedures; bike and helmet checks; en-route/on-street guidelines, etc.).

A big thank you goes out to all our sponsors, as well as the coaches who volunteered their time to make this happen!
